CHERRY HEARTWOOD ARM CHAIR

This custom designed arm chair was made from Cherry heartwood with Wenge doweling. In the design process, I borrowed loosely from Sam Maloof, Stickley, and Greene & Greene. The linear slats on both the back rest and arm braces have an essence of Stickley. The lumbar support on the back, the curvature of the arm braces, and the shape of the arms are inspired by Sam Maloof. The doweling and lower leg detail are reminiscent of Greene & Greene. I am responsible for blending those aspects and creating the joinery for doing so.
